One Flat Tire Will Spin A Car Off Course – Nurturing Your Emotional Health
Hosted by Renée Smith & Kevin Strauss

Renee Smith

Renee Smith

Topic Tie-In: As humans, we yearn for connection, to feel heard and valued, because it nurtures our emotional health, which drives our behaviors. The more connected we feel at work and home, the greater our opportunities to thrive!

Summary: Like the four tires of a car, having just one inflated or one flat will cause it to run poorly. A person’s well-being is the same, and our emotional health is often the first to deflate. This deflation shows up as destructive behaviors and self-sabotage. In this session, we’ll explore the critical role connection plays in emotional health, and will practice several techniques pre-, on-site, and post-conference. What you learn about relationships and emotional health today, you’ll be able to implement at work and home tomorrow.

Objectives for the session:

Kstrauss.jpg
  • Understanding emotional health, connection and its role in driving behaviors

  • Connect authentically with attendees pre- and post-conference using the Uchi app (if desired)

  • Practice multiple techniques for connecting with attendees in-person, which will translate to your work and home environments

  • Reflect together and privately on how your relationships (e.g. work, home) impact you, and how nurturing them can support your emotional health and overall well-being.

How Does All This Continue? How Do We Apply All We've Learned?
planning session and nlv debrief

You know those conferences you go to where you download all this great information... take copious notes... and then forget it all over the following weeks and months?

#NLVDenver2018

#NLVDenver2018

At NLV, this doesn’t happen.

In this interactive session, NLV facilitators are available to discuss your next steps, so you can bring the sessions together and make what you’ve learned habitual.

You'll get a close-up view of each facilitator’s ideas, as well as their expectations for participants and themselves in the coming months. With the help of our facilitators, you’ll get a clear roadmap of your next steps, as well as how to follow up to encourage accountability.

REMEMBER, WE'RE NOT NETWORKING HERE - WE'RE BUILDING A NETWORK.

With many conferences, the return to our normal routine means the loss of the motivation and energy created at the event. Your facilitators will help you identify the triggers you need, the follow-up you choose, and the challenges you'll face to continue your motivation long after the conference ends.

ZachHandsAllEngaged.jpg

objectives FOR THIS SESSION

  1. Set expectations for yourself to continue the growth you started at the conference.

  2. Identify the challenges you'll face after the conference, and develop strategies to face those challenges.

  3. Develop a plan to continue what you started here and plans to follow up with those participants you connected with.

  4. Better understand what you can do to help others solve problems, and build your tribe to help you succeed.

  5. Provide feedback to conference organizers and facilitators to make the next NLV even better.
